Please use field below to express your opinions, suggestions, etc. to the Worship Search Committee:
·
The music ministry is an important part
of my worship experience. My preference is someone who can use the music to prepare us for the message given to the pastor. The music should not encroach on the spoken message, but should be an adjunct to it. Thank you for allowing me to express my desires.
·
I think that a worship leader should be
open to all Christian music, contemporary and old hymns, be willing to include the children at times, that would be good for
them, I think. Otherwise, I think that the Lord will give the worship leader what he needs, if we trust Him to.
·
Let’s not move backwards..certainly
not jump on first person we see. You will know when the right person comes. Your committee will be in agreement. (rest you’ve
read, as this is Aaron’s comment);
·
I would like to see a musically talented
person that can motivate and lead our church in a forward direction of worship that would be pleasing to the Lord
·
If any of you met Billy Garrett who led
the music during one of our revivals, he is the type of leader we need. I don’t
think he plays an instrument, but he had other qualities. He even directed a “handbell” group in Nederland
·
I do not feel we need a full time worship
leader at this time
·
I really miss having someone play the piano. Also feel the congregation is not as involved in the singing, can’t hear them
due to volume of music on stage. Would like to see members in church sing specials again
·
I would like more hymnals. I like praise
songs, but not all praise songs. Music is so important to worship service.
·
Worship leader needs to lead, not play an
instrument. I miss Keith!
·
Music is important to a worship service.
It can minister to hearts and prepare people to hear God’s Word. It can also hinder it.
·
The leader needs to see the music program
as a ministry of the church. The worship time on Sunday is not just about the sermon. The music is integral and should lead
us to the studying of God’s word, as well as speak to our hearts. Music can draw people in – or be a distraction,
We need to avoid the distraction.
·
Music leader should really know the music.
Be able to teach music. Whether or not he or she plays an instrument doesn’t matter, but they should know fully about
instruments, and how to combine them with the choir and special events and programs. I hear too many choir members say the
leader doesn’t know anything about music, so I feel that if we hire a music leader, that person should really know music
and worship
·
I like the words being displayed on the
screen, but I would like to see a hymn number as well, if there is one. That way, if someone prefers to look at the hymnal,
they can
·
Our interim music director has so much talent.
My prayer is that we find a music director with a spirit that will radiate to everyone. And that he will say “please
be seated” and “please stand” , Much needed direction
·
It takes more than a talent of playing an
instrument to lead a church in worship. I believe the music leader should blend
with the praise team but still lead. His voice should NOT be the only voice we
hear. It is still a mystery of how one person can drown out 8 people
·
I think the worship leader should lead the
music. I do not think they should be putting on a show for everyone. I enjoy being able to praise/worship God during this time rather than sit or stand and watch others put
on a show.
·
The music leader should ask the choir how
confident they are in singing the songs planned. Are the songs planned “songs
we know” if not, change..so that we are only singing one new song at the very beginning of the service and everyone
can learn it together.
·
I believe the music program is a vital component
of a successful, productive healthy and growing church body. It needs to bring the church body together in a worshipful way
and it must include all the church body – young, old, and in between.
There is a lot of talent in our church. Special music is a blessing.
